What do you do when your venue does NOT let you have extended hours that go with Nigerian celebrations?
Well, this is one of the items you hopefully discussed with the venue managers prior to booking the venue and signing a contract. Always always discuss time when it comes to venue. This is just one of the many things to iron out. You also have items like food, drinks, security, parking, cleaning etc that should be discussed prior to signing a contract.
If you agreed on a time and they (venue manager(s) or applicable people in charge) are going back on their words or against what’s on the contract after you have made a payment, I am sure you can file something legally against them and demand all or a portion of your money back as they didn’t deliver what you paid for. However, if this was never talked about prior nor agreed upon and you signed the contract and paid, unfortunately there’s nothing you can do.
If you are still in the process of locking down a venue, then all I can say is keep looking. Make sure you discuss and attempt time negotiations. They (venue manager(s) or applicable people in charge) might require you to pay more to keep the venue open longer than their normal hours but it can be done! You pay for what you want!
